Setting up your phone

Note: This section pertains to customers who purchased only a SIM card and wish to install it in their own phone model. If you have purchased a Roam4Less™ phone, your phone is already set up and you can skip to the “Placing Calls” section below.

Important:
Your phone must be unlocked and be able to access the GSM frequencies in the countries you’re visiting. Check our website or call our Help Line for more information.

The setup process:
1. Install the SIM card as per your phone’s instructions.
2. Turn on your phone.
3. Enter PIN code [1111] if requested
4. In less than 2 minutes, it will automatically register with the local GSM network and activate your service. That’s all!

Note:
This will happen each time you turn on the phone.

Troubleshooting
If your phone does not connect to a network after two minutes, try re-installing the SIM card and restarting the phone. If it still doesn’t work (or reception is poor), you will need to manually select a local network. Consult your phone’s instruction booklet.

Placing outgoing calls
1. Dial the complete international number
(International Prefix + country code + area code and local number),
for example dial 001-212-555-4444 to call North America or 00-44-207-555-5555 to call the UK).

IMPORTANT:
You must include an access code like 00,001, or +.
2. Press the SEND key and within 10 seconds your phone will ring, signaling that the call is ready to be put through.
3. Press SEND again and your phone will ring the requested party.

Receiving incoming calls
Answer the phone exactly the way you normally do.

Retrieving voicemail
To set up and to access your voice mail, dial 00-324-861-91996 and follow the instructions.

Text Messaging (SMS)

Sending Text messages
Dial 00 + Country Code + Area Code + Phone Number

For example:
* When sending and SMS to another Roam4Less™ phone, simply dial 00 before the 32489 number.

Example: 00-32489-490000.
* When sending an SMS to another cell phone with a North American number, dial 001 + area code + number.
* When sending an SMS to an international number, dial 00 plus country code plus number.

Example: 0044 (country code) 693 (area code) 4546677 (phone number)

Receiving Text messages

Roam4Less™ SMS service is processed by state-of-the-art servers located overseas. You can only receive text messages on your assigned SMS number. This number will be displayed on your outgoing SMS.

If you are receiving an SMS from a North American mobile phone it must be sent in this format: 011324......***********

If you are receiving an SMS from any other country the format is 00324.....

Incoming SMS is free everywhere you roam with Roam4Less™.

Checking your airtime balance
You can check your airtime balance by texting "BAL" to 1966

1:	You can have your incoming calls to your landline or cellular phone forwarded to your Roam4Less™ phone. Contact your service provider for more details.

2:	You can test that your phone is working by calling your Roam4Less™ phone number from any landline. If your phone rings within 10 seconds, you know it's working. (note: There is no charge until you answer the call)
